ATV is "for no use to shame" leaves
Again a new docu-soap, and yet another that purports to capture everyday police work realistically. WEGA - The special police unit called can watch the show and they are the future, every Monday at prime time on ATV. With nausea Guarantee!
The journalistic ATV standards has deliberately low. The format is based more on something that has been made since the Iraq war as "embedded journalism" a dubious name. The camera crew was allowed on the ATV "Wiener Einsatzgruppen alarm Department: support (short WEGA) in their interventions in public and private spaces.
Who thinks that critical questions about past missions, such as for police violence against demonstrators, torture, and racist attacks has made, I was wrong. This is true at least for the first episode, which aired last Monday. How does the ATV team to go round these issues was sometimes considerable. Even as an official of WEGA "Postural asphyxia" talks in Austria - so the police officer - has happened before, there is no critical demand of the interviewer. The situation not only racist, but primarily caused by asphyxiation Seibane Wague remains unmentioned. Victims of such police methods remain nameless - the specific racial context is not reported.
Already in the first minutes of the WEGA-docu-soap is clear that constitutional principles like the presumption of innocence for ATV are irrelevant. A man who the police demolished apartment door and parts of the device is simply presented as "the perpetrator". A later conviction in court, however, not mentioned.
The intellectual level is not on the side of the ATV team and (who would have expected) and certainly not with the WEGA officers particularly high. Dialogues such as this are not unique:
WEGA policeman And that's obviously an air rifle.
ATV What kind of a weapon?
WEGA policeman An air rifle is brain-amputated this
double and still not funny. Apparently is necessary both in the WEGA as well as ATV, only the small graduation to get a job (and I do not mean the "small levels" of the ÖVP dreams now, but the ones that Sterman & Grissemann have vividly described as "four years of elementary school and a dance lesson").
the linguistic creativity knows no bounds. Such as when a police officer who said, "definitely" instead says "in any case" (and not just once). "If there is resistance," says the WEGA-speak "if a resistor is". That he likes to eat, a policeman describes with the words "I eat tua to love him". As an official WEGA spontaneously unwraps his English, which nevertheless are sufficient for a "Expect the unexpected" is helpless in the background softly, "What?" Heard. The origin is not entirely clear. Both his colleagues as well as parts of the ATV teams come into question. Another officer is not even capable of the English name of his stun gun to pronounce correctly. He calls him simply "Teesa" as the tape. Whether there was in this context it is confusion and / or tragic incidents, is still obscure.
The program managers will apparently assume, want to know that after the first 20 minutes, the people put in front of the box, how and where to apply. Anyway, that puts the drama of the first episode of WEGA - close to the special police unit who watch the latest one as the WEGA officers with the physical education allowed to an unpaid advertising program mutated for the police - in a disturbing the species. In a benevolent moment, I remember the sweaty, muscular men (mostly bald) to the advanced by some person version of the band Right Said Fred. A little later I have the same vision to the audience a neo-Nazi concert in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern think. Only when bald No. 3, "Tschudosport" tells is clear again in the surreal world that has kidnapped our ATV: To a sonicated with emotive music nightmare to quote horny TV makers to share with latent violent police officers.
